KNIFE PAINTING
Workshop Outline:
Knife painting is fast and simple alla prima painting. Students will move from rendering detail to rendering shapes of textured colour and will learn fundamental design and knife painting methods in oils or acrylics. Ken’s approach pays special attention to seeing subject matter as simple shapes, and creating textured strokes to evoke natural effects. An intensive atelier-style workshop, the weekend includes demos, hands-on painting, one-on-one, critique and handouts.
