Admission Procedure

Due to the residential nature of the program, students must be at least 19 years old to attend MISSA.

Enrollment is limited to 12 students per workshop in most cases. Once a class is full, we can place you on a waiting list or transfer your registration fees to another available course.
Ways to submit your application:

1. by phoning the Registration Office
2. by downloading and printing the application form and submitting it by mail.

Please note: Applications are not processed until payment is received.

MISSA reserves the right to refuse an applicant admission even where the applicant meets minimum admission requirements.
MISSA reserves the right to cancel a workshop. If that should happen, all registration charges shall be refunded.

Portfolios:
Some courses require a portfolio with application. Please include 6-10 images of your work as well as an artist’s history/bio. Students are encouraged to present their best work. Email portfolios are acceptable. The Selection Committee will meet at the beginning of March. Subsequent selections to follow.

Payment:
Please make cheques and money orders payable in Canadian funds to the Metchosin International Summer School of the Arts (MISSA). Or please phone the Registration Office (250 391 2420) with your Mastercard and Visa account number.

Refunds:
All deposits are non refundable.

Cancelled workshops:
Students will receive a full refund of tuition and any applicable course fees if a workshop is cancelled.

Bursaries:
The Metchosin International Summer School of the Arts awards a limited number of working bursaries each year. Selection is undertaken by the Board of Directors and is based on artistic merit, financial need and commitment to art. The bursaries typically cover a portion of the registration fees. Bursary students are expected to contribute a minimum of four hours volunteer time per week and to write a brief report outlining their MISSA experience.
